General Terms & Conditions

Reservations

All reservations are made based on the vehicle category, not for a specific model. In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, Avance reserves the right to provide to the customer a higher category car, at no extra charge for the customer. The company reserves the right to conclude a final rental contract with the customer before the delivery of the vehicle, based on any outstanding contractual issues from a previously concluded rental contract.

AGE REQUIREMENT

Minimum age limit of 19 years for the use of car groups A,A1,Α3,B,C,C3,D,GM,GM3,GMH, with the additional young driver charge of €10 per day *available at some stations. For the rest of the categories, the minimum age limit is 23 years, without additional charge, and for all stations of Avance Network. Maximum age limit is 75 years..

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

All drivers must present a full valid original Driving License and your ID or your passport.
If your Driving License has multiple parts you must present all of them.
All requirements apply to both you and any additional drivers.
You must have held your Driving License for a minimum of 1 full year(s). An International Driving License is required from those who are not citizens of: EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Contracting country to the Vienna Convention.
Please note that it is your responsibility to make sure you have all the necessary documentation, that your Driving License is valid in your intended rental country.
Any failure may cause a refusion from our end and you will be charged accordingly.

PAYMENT METHOD

For all vehicles categories a valid Credit/Debit Card (VISA-MASTERCARD) is accepted by Alpha Car, must be shown for the pre-authorization of the renter's liability (based on the amounts listed in section INSURANCES) as well as the settlement of final rental charges (for non prepaid reservations).
The rental agrrement can be paid also by cash.

INSURANCE

All authorized drivers of Alpha Car vehicles are covered against damages from Fire to the rented vehicle, and Liability Insurance to Third Party death, injury, and property.
Both coverages are subject to General Terms of the Alpha Car insurance contract with its Insurer.

FLEET AVAILABILITY

The make and model of the car displayed on the voucher is for reference only and Alpha Car reserves the right to substitute it for an alternative, similar or upgraded car.
If the vehicle on your voucher becomes unavailable at the time of booking, Alpha Car will provide you with a similar or upgraded vehicle.

DRIVING LICENSE

Production of a valid license for driving in the Greek territory and the E.U., issued at least 1 year prior to the rental’s starting date, is required. Citizens of countries outside the E.U. are required to be in possession of a driver’s license valid both in Greece and in the European Union, or otherwise holders of an international driver’s license which they are required to present together with the valid driver’s license issued in their country. Digital driving licenses issued by countries other than Greece will not be accepted.

Reservation Cancellations

According to EU consumer protection law, the right of withdrawal may vary depending on the service: Car Rental Bookings: * Full Refund: Cancellations made at least [e.g., 48 hours] prior to the scheduled pick-up time are eligible for a full refund of the prepaid amount. Partial Refund / Cancellation Fee: Cancellations made within [e.g., 24-48 hours] of the pick-up time may be subject to a cancellation fee of [e.g., 20%] or the cost of one rental day. Non-Refundable: Cancellations made less than [e.g., 24 hours] before pick-up, or “No-Shows,” are generally non-refundable. Service/Maintenance Appointments: [If applicable, insert policy here, e.g., free cancellation up to 24 hours before].

GRACE PERIOD

At the end of the agreed rental period, Alpha Car allows a grace period of 30 minutes free of charge after which, the renter will be charged with a minimum of one full day rental.
Also all renters must be returned before 12:00 noon.

TRAFFIC FINES

All fines resulting from the drivers conduct are born solely by the renter.
You must have held your Driving License for a minimum of 1 full year(s).

GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS

ONE WAY RENTALS:
Applicable between Alpha Car locations following an authorization and a special charge agreement with Alpha Car.

ACROSS THE BORDER RENTALS:
Allowed only with the prior written agreement authorization and a special charge agreement with Alpha Car (upon request - with special insurance policy).

FERRY RESTRICTIONS:
Allowed only with prior written agreement and a special charge agreement with Alpha Car. Please note that any damage to the vehicle in transit will be not covered by any insurance.

TAXES

All fines resulting from the drivers conduct are born solely by the renter.

Fuel

The renter has to return the car with the same quantity of fuel it had when collected. In case the car is returned with a quantity of fuel less than the original (namely, less than the quantity of fuel the vehicle had when collected by the customer), the customer shall be charged with the fuel difference. No customer refund is provided in case of the car returned with a quantity of fuel greater than that collected. Vehicles are delivered with a minimum quantity of fuel, corresponding to ¼ of the reservoir.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

Alpha Car offers basic roadside assistance. Please check for details when picking up the vehicle. If the Supplier needs to provide a replacement vehicle due to a breakdown or accident, a new excess amount will be reserved on your credit card as deposit.

VEHICLE CHECK IN/OUT

NO- SHOW:
If you fail to pick up the vehicle at the booked time and date or notify us of cancellation before the rental is booked to start, this will be treated as a no-show. If you cannot pick up the vehicle due to insufficient documentation or because your credit card is not valid, is not accepted by Alpha Car or does not hold sufficient funds to cover the deposit, this is also treated as a no-show. Please keep in mind that fees may apply.

FLIGHT INFORMATION:
For airport pick-ups, it is essential that you give us the correct flight number and arrival time. We are not responsible for any failed rentals if you did not provide this information or did not do it in time.

OUT OF HOURS SERVICE:
The charge for every delivery or collection Outside Working Hours (21:01 - 07:59) is €25 per service.

LATE RETURNS: A late return penalty fee may apply if you return the vehicle later than agreed in your Rental Document. Please check the details with the Supplier when you pick up your rental vehicle.

RENTAL EXTENTIONS:
Extensions are only possible on request at the rental desk prior your scheduled drop of day.

COVERAGE EXCLUSIONS

If you drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, use the rental vehicle in any other negligent or reckless way, or break the conditions set out in the Rental Agreement, all applicable insurance covers, waivers etc. will be deemed void and you will be fully responsible for all damage to the vehicle as well as loss of use and any other related costs.
Only authorized drivers registered on the Rental Agreement are allowed to drive the rental vehicle. Damage caused by unauthorized drivers is not covered. Please note that the standard coverage products, if any are included in the rate or purchased, do not cover accessories, such as tires, windscreens, locks, wheel caps, etc.
Damage to the mechanical parts, wheels, glasses, roof and to the underneath of the vehicle are not covered by standard coverage. Damage to the following items is not covered:

Cutch
Interior
Empty battery
Flat tires
Lost keys
Taxi Transfer After an Accident
Towing Fees

Coverage does not include compensation for the days when the rental vehicle cannot be used due to repair works in case of damage.
